Carolina Herrera - Fall 10

Carolina Herrera

She's talented on every level that a designer needs to be and so she delivers magnificent work, year after year, season after season. I remember the first time I went into one of her stores. It feels like you're in an aristocrats household who happens to have a fitting room where you can take any number of displayed pieces off a rack which happens to be standing next to a stack of old books. This woman is everything in a designer that I one day hope to be. She has spent a huge part of her career being known as one of the best dressed women in the world and is widely recognized for dressing Jacqueline Kennedy Onassiss so it is no shock that she performs with perfection on this platform. What is impressive is her ability to fuse old school glamour with modern day twist and details. She combines her a classic look with distressed edges and "Regency gowns" with her puff sleeves and all but with a modern satin with watermark design or girl influenced embellishments. Her forward details, glamourous silhouettes and cuts, and regal textiles make for another collection we all wish we owned a little piece of, here in the fashionista world. Check out the video of her show on style.com - it does more justice to the collection than the images.
