Cushnie et Ochs Spring/Summer 2011 review

Cushnie et Ochs Spring/Summer 2011 review

Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs have a vision when they go into the design room and it translates properly onto the runway. They dress for a woman who desires “sexuality, sophistication, and individuality." It’s no shock that their collection this season then has mixed sexy black leather, sophisticated draping, and individual textiles to provide a solid collection. You will surely see these clothes on your favorite fashionistas come spring and summer of 2011. While their raw edge textiles provide a young hand to these looks, there is no doubt that all of their garments are properly finished and well cut. Peter pan collared shirts, leather blocking on otherwise lightweight dresses, slightly oversized shirt dresses, shorts, and pants, and beautifully and innovative draped white dresses are all forward trends. Their prints are current and yet lasting and will surely provide comfort for their buyers at Browns and Neiman Marcus. Their show opener of a black leather dress for a warm weather collection was daring and on time. A camel shorts suit was a favorite. Combining their safe neutral color palette, inventive fabrics, and hip silhouettes was the magic collaboration which did this collection right. This is an "on point" duo that has what fashion needs and wants; forward and wearable.
