ADAM Spring/Summer 2011 Collection is a professional romantic
If you were to take a woman from the romantic era, the 1970’s and the office and put them together, you would get ADAM’s lady of next spring/summer season. Pairing clean, heavier and often dark shade jackets over simple and soft dresses and separates displayed nice styling. The paisley lace linen dresses were to live for. The high waisted beautifully fitted bell-bottoms, yes bell-bottoms, were a nice breath of fresh air in the trouser department. A few of his pieces this season tried out the “sunshine empire” waist which is a beautiful effect and some other designers as well are embracing this trend this season. The collection was mainly in neutrals with a few sneaks of cherry red tomato and cloud light blues. A craving for at least one more design in his fabulous periwinkle, white, and grey chiffon print. His holey knit sweaters, random leathers, and lightly printed chiffons were odd and yet successful additions to the collection. They were much preferred over the oversized shirt-dresses and skirts, which seemed more like space fillers than must haves of the season. To be fair they were staying true to ADAM’s original and constant aesthetic of boyfriend clothes and “hide my perfect body” style. Overall, this collection was true to Adam Lippes form; Wearable, romantic, and a few separates which women will be eager to add to their “much attended to“ wardrobes.
