Charlotte Ronson Spring/Summer 2011 forward flashback collection makes old rules new

If you were conscious for the late 90’s or even more so devoted to fashion in those days, it may explain why Charlotte Ronson’s Spring/Summer 2011 collection took you down memory lane. It was so spot on in a forward way that it possibly made you remember the dependence your first kiss had on the way the fine flower print spaghetti strap dress fit you, which color beanie you chose, or at best even how much it looked like you weren’t trying to look “wicked hot”. (Even though you spent hours deciding which tee shirt to layer under your dress and skinny belt.) Ronson last season made fashionistas want a turban and this season she creates desire for light and seam darkened denim. What’s next?! One can only hope she doesn’t try to bring back Skidz…or can they? The giant plaid flannels and the tying around the waist may have taken this trend a bit too literally but nevertheless the skirt that looks like a sweater with the sleeve tie in the front was innovative and a guilty craving. Totally see-thorough yellow and royal blue chiffons, army cotton pieces, socks under boots and sandals, and braids in long hair details left this gypsy designer’s vision of next spring/summers 2011 the born again virgin of the late 90’s. For a reason most critiques can’t put their finger on, this collection made pure chaotic sense.
